Tony Castle
Co-owner & Head of Production
Tony Castle has been making films since his early tweens. His first short filmed premiered at The 2004 Vail Film Festival. The following year Tony was asked to join the team at Vail Film Festival to help produce the event. He has since directed the Annual Award Show with guests including Kevin Smith, Jane Seymour, Adrian Grenier, Michelle Monaghan, Zach Braff and many other filmmakers and actors. That year, Tony also teamed up with DOCZILLA, a New York documentary film studio to produce, The Entrepreneur, a film that follows legendary business man, Malcolm Briclkin, on an adventure across the globe in an attempt to be the first US company to import cars from China. The film was picked up by Morgan Spurlock and has had great success on HULU.com.
In 2008, while attending The University of Colorado in Boulder he met Roxy Hunt. The duo teamed up to create The Big Freakin’ Deal Film Festival, aka The BFD Film Fest. The festival showcases films in an extravagant, over the top, glitzly Hollywood themed spectacle – musical numbers and all – to ensure that everyone who attends feels like a Big Freakin’ Deal. It is this ridiculous mentality that spawned the creation of BFD Productions.
In 2009, Tony and Roxy teamed up with Damon Cardasis and Shannon Walker to create the LES Film Festival, a unique film festival showcasing films in New York’s historic Lower East Side.
